TAC Opportunities

TAC engages fiber artists working in a wide variety of mediums and techniques for teaching, exhibition, and community outreach opportunities. Current opportunities are listed below.

  • Teach at TAC: TAC Madison invites teaching artists who practice textile and fibers arts to submit proposals for in-person classes and workshops. Additional details and a link to our workshop proposal form are online here.

    • TAC is seeking teaching artists for a number of specific, requested subjects. Please contact us if you have any of these skills to share with the community.

      • Weaving (table loom)

      • Youth fiber art classes for academic year 2025-26

  • Orton Park Festival Art Installation and Community Activity 

    The Textile Arts Center of Madison (TAC) is currently accepting artist proposals for an art installation and community fiber art activity to take place during the 2025 Orton Park Festival on Madison’s near east side. TAC is seeking proposals that are visually compelling, that invite community participation, and that will develop/grow/change over the course of the weekend. The installation and activity will take place in the Orton Park gazebo on August 30 and 31, 2025 from 12-5pm each day. An artist stipend of $1,000 plus a budget for supplies and materials is available.

Community Opportunities

  • Dane Arts 2026 Calendar & Poster Call for Art – “Wild and Precious”

    Dane Arts is now accepting submissions for the twenty-sixth edition of our annual arts calendar and poster, highlighting the wonderful and talented artists of Dane County. The theme of the 2026 Calendar is: “Wild and Precious,” inspired by the poem "The Summer Day," by Mary Oliver. Deadline to apply: Sunday, May 11.

  • Women Artists Forward Fund Forward Art Prize offers two annual, unrestricted $10,000 awards for women-identifying visual artists living in Dane County, WI who show exceptional creativity in their work and compelling prospects for the future. Selections are made through an open, juried, competitive application process each summer. The 2025 application period runs from May 1 through June 15.
