TAC Community Day: Meet the Guilds Edition
An event celebrating the richness and resources of our Dane County fiber art community!
Sunday, February 22, 11am-2pm
The Textile Arts Center of Madison is delighted to invite you to our "Meet The Guilds" Community Day on Sunday, February 22nd from 11am-2pm.
This free community event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the rich textile arts community here in Madison.
Representatives from area fiber art guilds and organizations will be at TAC - each with their own table - to share information about their groups, and their upcoming programming:
Madison Embroidery Guild
Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists
Madison Knitters Guild
Madison Modern Quilt Guild
Mad City Quilts Guild
Madison Area Sewing Guild (MASG)
Memory Cloth Circle
Sewing Machine Project
Center for Design and Material Culture
The event will also provide opportunities for:
Seeing the textile art projects of students from Shabazz High School who visited TAC bi-weekly in the fall semester to learn sewing, embroidery, weaving, and applique, and then each made an artwork through which they explored a world history topic of their choosing.
Picking up a TAC Craft Pack, choc-a-bloc with art-making goodies. When you’ve finished a project with your Pack, add a photo to our Craft Pack online gallery (instructions and a link will be provided).
Enjoying our current exhibition, Ordinary TOPOGRAPHIES: New Work by Mary Hark.
